For 20 years Pablo Serrano has painted different Murals all over Illinois following the footsteps of mentors like Hector Duarte and Marcos Raya here in Chicago and the Mexican muralist movement from the early 20th century. Having worked as a public school art teacher and having studied Art Education at the Art Institute of Chicago (Master’s of Art in Teaching) and Northern Illinois University, his public work is informed by democratic educational practices along with strong beliefs of social justice and equality for underserved communities.
